Bernie Sanders didn't hold back when it came to Donald Trump's recent conspiracy-laden tweets,Sabik (2025) which show no signs of abating.
Sanders made an appearance on Conan Tuesday night, where the discussion steered toward the President-elect and the ensuing debate over so-called illegal voters having an influence in the election.

"This is what is scary about it: When he says that, he's really sending a signal to Republican [leaders] all over the country. What he's saying is, we've got to suppress the vote."

Sanders believes what Trump really wants is Republican colleagues to make it harder for people of colour, immigrants, the elderly and poorer people to exercise their democratic right to vote, "because they may be voting against us."
"My own view is we've got to work overtime to bring more people into the political process, not make it harder for people to participate."
"But there's a hidden message in that: Be careful if you're prepared to dissent."
Sanders also touched on a recent tweet by Trump, promising to imprison or tear up the citizenship of those who burn the American flag.
"Let's see, we have massive wealth and income inequality ... we have to deal with climate change, which is threatening the existence of the planet, and he's talking about three people who might burn the American flag," he said.
"But there's a hidden message in that: Be careful if you're prepared to dissent."
Sanders also took aim at the Clinton emails, which became such a point of attack for Trump and also something the media fixated on.
It's an obsession something that Sanders finds lamentable. The media didn't do enough to focus on the "real issues" concerning people, but rather the emails, he said.
"What media loved was the fact Trump would say one absurd thing after another, ugly things about people that we've never heard before from a presidential candidate.
"You know what, that was great TV, that was great TV. CNN'sratings went way up," he said.
"I think the American people have got to demand people more out of media. The American people have got to demand the media talk about the issues that impact our lives. Can you get by on ten bucks an hour, or do you have to raise the minimum wage?"
Sanders then slammed network news and its little coverage of income inequality and the high cost of prescription drugs in the U.S. due to these networks' "vested interests."
"It's not because these guys are dummies. There are real conflicts of interest -- I mean we don't talk about it, but who owns the media? Half a dozen major conglomerates. Do they have vested interests that are in conflict with the public? You're damn right they do," he said.
Asked if he was worried about Trump, Sanders said he was more concerned about the future of the country.
"I worry about somebody who wins an election whose cornerstone of his election was bigotry ... I worry very much about a man who thinks climate change is a hoax ... so I worry about those things, and more," he said.
