Samsung,Watch 2 Fast 2 Furious Online like so many other tech giants, isn't physically attending this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but the company will have a virtual event.
The company announced Monday that its Samsung Galaxy session will be on June 28, where it will showcase "how the Galaxy ecosystem of connected devices is set to provide people with even greater possibilities for enriching their lifestyles."
In particular, Samsung will be "sharing its vision for the future of smartwatches," which might be very interesting given that Google has recently partnered with Samsung to combine its Wear OS smartwatch platform with Samsung's Tizen into a new OS called Wear. Hopefully, we'll see actual devices running on the new platform at the event, though Samsung hasn't explicitly said it'll happen.
Finally, Samsung will also talk about its "latest security enhancements and innovation" at the event.
The event starts on June 28, at 1:15pm ET.
Mobile World Congress was one of the first major tech events to get canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. This year, the event was moved from its typical late February time slot to June 28 - July 1, but it certainly won't be as big as your typical MWC, given that Google, Samsung, Nokia, Facebook, and several other major companies said they would not attend. Still, if Samsung's event is any indication, we'll still get to see cool new gadgets at virtual events.
