At the Emmy awards this past Sunday,Osawa Yuka Archives Elisabeth Moss wore a lovely pale pink dress with a clutch and shoes to match -- but what you couldn't see was her hidden message to the patriarchy.
Moss's stylist, Karla Welch, revealed on Instagram Monday that there was indeed a secret statement under Elisabeth's shoes.

It's totally not difficult to guess what word was written under her other shoe...
Talk about a fashion statement.
While it's a simple message, it's a multi-layered one. For instance, the "off" can also be read as a reference to Moss's character Offred in The Handmaid's Tale, which makes this secret message all that more witty -- especially considering the challenge the show poses to patriarchal society.
Of course, it can also be read as Moss's way of calling out Hollywood's own patriarchy.
However you take it, it's a message the show's fans, and many others, will appreciate.
