The TV Movie Archivesnasty cultural attitude of victim-blaming in cases of sexual assault is still pervasive in our society.
Just a few days ago, Judge Lindsey Kushner QC caused controversy for saying that women's "disinhibited behaviour" could put them at a greater risk of rape.
SEE ALSO: The best signs from the 'Reclaim the Night' protest against sexual violence and victim blamingComedian Tracey Ullman nailed the double standard many women face by turning the tables in a brilliant satire video for her BBC One show.
In the episode, a well-dressed man reports to Ullman, who plays a callous detective, that he's been mugged at knifepoint.
Ullman asks: "Is this what you were wearing when it happened?"
"You look quite provocatively wealthy... Just a bit of an invitation, isn't it? Like you're advertising it," she continues.
Women who report similar episodes are probably familiar to these unsympathetic words.
As the man becomes visibly upset and even more surprised by the victim-blaming, Ullman calls in a counselor, who turns out to be even more of an asshole.
"Oh dear. Had you been drinking?" she asks.
"Yes, because if you'd had a drink it could send out confusing signals," Ullman adds."Lead somebody on with the nice suit and the phone, and then at the last minute, say 'I don't want to be mugged'."
Quite to the point, isn't it? Watch it yourself:
