In 1977,Kali Hansa NASA sent the Voyager 1 spacecraft out on a mission to the distant worlds of our solar system.
Nestled safely aboard the spacecraft sits the Golden Record, a collection of sounds and songs of Earth meticulously chosen by scientists to represent the best humanity has to offer. The record also includes a map pointing back to Earth, plus directions and tools needed to play it.

"The Golden Record tells a story of our planet expressed in sounds, images, and science: Earth’s greatest music from myriad peoples and eras, from Bach and Beethoven to Blind Willie Johnson and Chuck Berry, Benin percussion to Solomon Island panpipes," Ozma Records, which is printing the record, said in a statement.
"Natural sounds—birds, a train, a baby’s cry, a kiss—are collaged into a lovely audio poem called 'Sounds of Earth.' There are spoken greetings in dozens of human languages — and one whale language — and more than 100 images encoded in analog that depict who, and what, we are."
This marks the first time the record has been made available to the public on vinyl, though NASA has released the sounds of the record via SoundCloud.
The quest to bring the Golden Record to turntables around the world started with a Kickstarter in 2016, which quickly reached its fundraising goal, raising $1,363,037 for the project.
The team behind the project remastered the sounds originally used for the Voyager Golden Record -- which was put together by a team led by Carl Sagan -- for their Golden Record project.
The record itself, floating through space aboard the twin Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft, was designed as a way for any extraterrestrial beings who may come across it to know something of the people who made it.
It's effectively a love letter to humanity that represents all of us at our most essential.
You can pre-order the box set featuring the Golden Record, which includes three LPs, a book, and other goodies for $98. The company is expecting to start shipping the back-ordered box sets starting in January.
