They're not the highest quality shoes, but why should that matter when they cost literally just a buck? They'll get you from the pool to wherever you need to go and that's all that matters to a kid in the summer.

If you had multiple colors, even better. I treated these like Pokémon, in that I tried to collect them all. Balenciaga can make all the slippers they want, but there's nothing like a pair of classic mesh slippers to wear out in the world.

The fact that Rihanna designed a version of these plastic shoes for adults is a definite sign of their cultural impact.
