Blair Braverman,Watch Actresses' Survival Skills Online Twitter legend, feels great about her body and she'd like for you to get on the same page.
The author and self-described "adventurer" who is also a competitive musher and prolific Twitter user, used her adorable army of sled dogs to make a point about body image. In a sprawling Saturday thread, Braverman described how her experiences raising and training the pups helped to give her a healthy perspective.

She starts on a point that many of us have probably heard before: all bodies are different. And it's true, she admits. But the act of working with the pooches from puppyhood to elder dog years has made that fact abundantly clear, in a "bone-deep, beautiful, complicated way."

She goes on to point out how some are born for cross-country journeys while others do better on short hauls. Some are also born with disabilities and "bodies that make everything harder for them." Those dogs can still "shine," she writes, they just need "extra care and understanding."
(I'm notgoing to spoil all the delicious dog photos. Go follow Blair. She frequently dispenses great story and bits of wisdom.)
She eventually brings the comparison back around to us humans:
"And, like, my body is like that too. It has its own set points, its own levels. So does yours. The dogs’ bodies aren’t up to them, just like ours aren’t. There’s no value judgment. They are what they are."

Sometimes simple truths and ideas we've heard a million times before take on new meaning when applied outside the most typical and familiar lens. Here, Braverman uses photos of dogs -- and real talk about what makes them all so beautifully different -- to turn a trite aphorism into something genuinely moving and broadly relatable.
I can't think of a better way to wile away this sleepy summer Saturday than a delightful thread filled with fluffer-faced dogs and golden insights.
