In the ELeague Season 2 grand finals on Saturday, Astralis and OpTic Gaming were tied 1-1 in the best-of-three series. With everything on the line on the third map -- Overpass -- both teams were playing it safe and avoiding overly aggressive plays.
That happened to work out for Astralis's Nicolai "Dev1ce" Reedtz.
Dev1ce was caught in a 1v4 situation against a well-armed OpTic defense. With the bomb already down on bombsite B, Dev1ce had to stop OpTic from killing him and defusing the bomb to win the round.
OpTic advanced on him from all angles, but with amazing precision and some great movement around limited cover, Dev1ce took all four of them out to secure the round for Astralis.
In the finals of OGN's first season of OverwatchApex on Saturday morning, the competition had been whittled down to Team EnVyUs vs. Afreeca Freecs Blue. In the second map of the series, Hollywood, Afreeca Blue started out on the Attack side and made it past the first point.
With no time on the clock and mere feet away from giving up a second point, EnVyUs's Timo "Taimou" Kettunen came in like a wrecking ball with his nano-boosted Roadhog. Nailing perfect Chain Hooks on the enemy Ana and Genji while blasting away the heavies with his ultimate, Taimou dissolved Afreeca Blue's offense to end the round.
For the first time ever, two U.S. players made it to the grand finals of the Capcom Cup -- the culminating tournament of the 2016 Street Fighter Vseason. On match point, Du "NuckleDu" Dang kept his cool in the grand finals rematch against Ricki Ortiz.
NuckleDu took control of R. Mika as he faced off against Ortiz's Chun-Li, taking control of nearly every round to end on a 3-1 victory. In the final round, NuckleDu had an advantage until Ortiz knocked him back, but NuckleDu countered Ortiz's attacks and finished the tournament with a Rainbow Typhoon.
As the first U.S. player to win the Capcom Cup, NuckleDu walked away with over $120,000 in prize money.
The Rocket LeagueChampionship Series Season 2 grand finals saw two European powerhouse teams FlipSid3 Tacts and Mockit Aces go head-to-head Sunday. In true Rocket Leagueform, there were some amazing plays from both sides of the pitch in the two-set series.
FlipSid3's Francesco "Kuxir97" Cinquemani was undoubtedly the star of the show with his uncanny ability to score difficult goals, but this play in game four was his best.
Marius "Greazymeister" Ranheim put the ball up off the post and Kuxir flew in, freestyling his car into the perfect position to put the ball in the bottom left corner. away from the defense.

In Wednesday's GearsFight Night, Vanquish was taking on Extortion in the title card match. The fifth game of domination wasn't looking so hot for Vanquish until Extortion made the poor decision to advance on the point held by Kaid "GodPlays" Saleh.
GodPlays found himself in a 1v3 against Extortion, but managed to take them all out with some point-blank shotgun blasts. Extortion wasn't finished though, as two more players closed in. GodPlays came out on top of the 1v2 with some aggressive defense and completely lived up to this name.
In Sunday’s ELeague Minor, Cloud9 was up against Immortals in the winners finals. On Cobblestone, smoke grenades had gone out on bombsite B as Immortals were moving in on Cloud9's defense.
Cloud9's Jake "Stewie2k" Yip was behind cover next to the smoke screen, looking for approaching players. Immortals' João "Felps" Vasconcellos approached. Neither saw each other as Felps walked right by Stewie's rock-solid defense, and then the two proceeded to stand back-to-back.
