Ryan Lochte had a rough time in Rio.
He lost to Michael Phelps,World Of Single Jaye (2020) his bleached platinum hair turned green, he claimed to have been robbed at gunpoint and he's been accused of lying about being robbed at gunpoint.
SEE ALSO: Ryan Lochte totally chill about being robbed at gunpointHere are some of the swimmer's least thought-out decisions.
First, Lochte recounted that he was robbed at gunpoint while in Rio early Sunday morning. This was at first denied by the International Olympic Committee, but later confirmed.
Lochte provided Todaywith the following account: "We got pulled over, in the taxi, and these guys came out with a badge, a police badge, no lights, no nothing just a police badge and they pulled us over. They pulled out their guns, they told the other swimmers to get down on the ground. They got down on the ground. I refused. I was like we didn't do anything wrong, so -- I'm not getting down on the ground."
However, Brazilian authorities cast doubt on the details of the situation while Lochte has been retweeting people who agree that his story is true.
Recently released security footage shows Lochte and his teammates returning to the Olympic Village after the alleged robbery. Judge Keyla Blank cites this video as the reason she ruled for a further investigation, because Lochte and the teammates did not appear to have gone through a traumatic incident or lost valuables they are shown putting through the complex's metal detector.
As evidence continues to be released, we hope to soon learn whether or not Lochte told the truth, misrepresented the facts or lied about all of it.

Lochte bleached his brown locks before heading to Rio. You know, to look great under his swim cap. However, once he dipped his head in Rio's (sometimes dubiously filtrated) pools, his hair turned green for the duration of the Olympics. But don't worry, his hair should be back to normal by now.

Who could forget 2012, the Summer of Ryan Lochte? At the London games, he was ushered in as America's golden boy, and certainly, the grill was an essential part of the look the country fell in love with. (Ed. note: it is extremely debatable as to whether or not Lochte was ever considered America's golden boy to anyone besides 18-year-olds who spent their final summer before college alone in their parents' basement laughing at memes.)
While he was asked not to wear it on the podium, he sported it afterward for a series of popular photographs. The grill was made of diamonds and rubies, and he had it custommade before heading to London.
Case in point. Spelling and grammar errors galore, his Twitter is full of ridiculous gems like these.

A personality like Lochte's seems perfect for a reality show. However, he's much more prone to success underwater than he is on television. What Would Ryan Lochte Do?lasted just one season on E!, which cancelled it after eight episodes.

#JEAH is Lochte's catchphrase. In an attempt to explain its definition back in 2009, Lochte said, "It means, like, almost, like, everything." Even his license plate features the phrase.

You just hate to see that happen.
Better luck next time, Lochte.
Lochte played a version of himself called "Ryan Lochte: Sex Idiot" on the Season 7 episode "Stride of Pride." It's great! He's funny in it! His other good decisions include being a 12-time Olympic medalist and not bringing the grills to Rio.
